Abstract: 

The present research studies the derivational suffixes ordering constraints in Persian in Complexity-based ordering Approach. The corpus based on which this research is conducted is the data of the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies. To conduct this study, 8 Persian suffixes were selected and ranked in a hierarchy-based ordering in Complexity-based ordering Approach, then the correlation between their ranks in the hierarchy and their productivity, parsing ratios and boundary strengths were evaluated. Also, the correlation between the suffixes positions in graphical hierarchy, with their productivity, parsing ratios and boundary strengths were evaluated. The results show that there is no meaningful correlation between the suffixes ranks in the hierarchy-based ordering in Complexity-based ordering Approach and their position in the graphical hierarchy, their productivity, parsing ratios and boundary strengths.

Abstract: 

Objectives: As COVID-19 will not be the last pandemic, understanding our historical response allows us to predict and improve our current practices in preparation for the next pandemic. Following the removal of the elective surgery suspension at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is unclear whether sports medicine surgery volume has returned to pre-pandemic levels as well as whether the Backlog from the original suspension was addressed. The purpose of this study to observe the monthly changes in volume and Backlog of knee and shoulder sports surgery one year since the original suspension. Methods: National all-payer data was utilized to identify patients undergoing knee and shoulder sports procedures from January 2017 to April 2021. Descriptive analysis was utilized to report the monthly changes in surgeries. A linear forecast analysis using historical data was utilized to determine the expected volume. This was compared to the observed case volume. The difference in expected and observed volume was utilized to calculate the estimated change in Backlog. Results: From March to May 2020, there was a persistent decrease in the observed shoulder and knee sports volume when compared to the expected volume. By June 2020, all knee and shoulder sports volume reached the expected volume. By April 2021, the estimated Backlog for shoulder and knee procedures had increased by 49. 8% (26, 412 total cases) and 19. 0% (26, 412 total cases), respectively, with respect to the original calculated Backlog from March to May 2020. Conclusion: Within four months, the sudden decrease in volume for knee and shoulder sports procedures had returned to pre-pandemic levels,however, the original Backlog in cases has continually increased one year following the suspension. Additionally, the Backlog is significantly higher for knee when compared to shoulder surgeries. Level of evidence: IV

Abstract: 

Supplier selection is the process by which firms identify, evaluate, and contract with suppliers. The supplier selection process deploys a tremendous amount of a firm's financial resources. Nowadays, supplying the required resource of organizations has become an important business approach so a competitive advantage may be gained by the selection of the best suppliers to provide products/services more effectively and efficiently. Many models have been developed for solving supplier selection problem. In this paper, in addition to considering the incremental discount strategies, cost of shortages is also considered so far has not been considered. In this model, two objective functions of cost minimization of the buyer, and maximize quality of product is considered. To solve the proposed supplier selection model, an improved harmony search algorithm is used. The results show that the proposed algorithm works properly in the term of both CPU time and the quality of solutions. Finally, some numerical examples for model analyses are presented.

Abstract: 

Affix ordering is a theoretical discussion in morphology. Till now, three approaches considered affix ordering such as layered approach (siegel 1974), Selectional restriction approach (Fabb 1988) and complexity-based ordering approach (Hay and Plag 2000). The Complexity-Based ordering create the present theoretical framework article. The purpose of this research is assessing this approach in Persian derivational suffix ordering. For this end, about 41 Persian derivational suffixes are selected. Then from the Persian corpus of the Institute of Humanities and Cultural Studies 9172 derivative words is extracted. The results show that there is a covering between parsability continuum and Persian suffix ordering in the most cases. But this covering is not complete and, in some cases, parsability can’ t describe some of the derivate combinations. According to Hay and Plag (2004), It seems that for presenting a description of Persian suffix ordering beside parsability we must consider the Selectional restriction on affixes.

Abstract: 

Topological aspects of meshless element free Galerkian method (EFGM) as the nodal connectivity of matrices are studied. Four different graphs are defined for meshless discretizations of EFGM and their connectivity is investigated. Graphs are used for nodal ordering of meshless models in order to reduce the bandwidth, profile, maximum front width, and root-mean-square wave front of the corresponding matrices.

Abstract: 

The topological ordering algorithm sorts nodes of a directed graph such that the order of the tail of each arc is lower than the order of its head. In this paper, we introduce the notion of covering between nodes of a directed graph. Then, we apply the topological ordering algorithm on graphs containing the covering nodes. We show that there exists a cut set with forward arcs in these graphs and the order of the covering nodes is successive.

Abstract: 

With considering a ‘triangle of three major currency pairs’, there is a tiny difference between multiplication of exchange rate for the first two currency pairs and the third. To discover whether this little difference can lead to a neutral arbitrage or not, I took portfolios of 35 baskets of three major currency pairs (combinations of all 7 major currencies). There are eight approaches (different cases of short and long positions) in each basket; for example buying 1st currency pairs and selling two others, etc.Historical monthly FX rates were gathered from January 1990 until July 2011. Profit or loss derived from eight approaches in all baskets has been calculated. Number of months with a profit has been compared with the months with a loss. Covariances of all approaches of FX rates between growth rates were calculated.I found that this ‘triangle ordering’ of three currency pairs will not always eventuate to a profit. In the other meaning, this is not a neutral strategy. The results showed that in 94% of 280 cases, the probability of gaining profit is almost equal to gaining loss. Also it was found that the most profitable approach is not the best in probability of profit.Standard deviations of results (as indicators of risk of the approaches) were diagramed with the amount of profits. This figured ‘efficient frontier’ of approaches, the best combinations of risks and profits.Covariance were often positive (in 70% of 280 cases), showing probability of simultaneous effectiveness of external factors on all currencies

Abstract: 

In this paper, we compare four ordering policies in a lost sales inventory model with zero ordering cost, constant lead time, and Poisson demand process. These ordering policies are 1) base stock policy, 2) full delay policy, 3) simple delay policy and 4) a recently developed ordering policy called (1; T) or one for one period policy. Our work can be considered as an expansion of a previous research which compared the first three policies. We show that, for any fixed value of the ratio of unit lost sales cost over unit holding cost, there is a specific value of lead time demand beyond which the cost of (1; T) policy is lower than the costs of the other three policies. Furthermore, the superiority of (1; T) policy is more significant for low values of the above ratio and becomes more pronounced as the lead time demand increases.
